From The Apex Daily The 16th Annual Apex Jaycees Car Show raised an estimated $8,000 - $10,000 for the Boys & Girls Home of NC cottage they support at Lake Waccamaw. The event drew 1,200 people and 150 car entries. Entrants brought everything you could imagine in the way of street rods, antique autos, trucks, classics, and even 2002 model cars. One entry, David Cassone brought his 1963 Chevy all the way from Fort Shaw, Montana.

Of the twelve major trophies awarded, the 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury owned by Danny Wood won three, including the Boys Home Award, Best of Show, and Outstanding Mopar. This year's event was chaired by Karen Byrd of Byrd & Yates CPA, PA, who is also President of the Apex Chamber of Commerce, and co-chaired by fellow Jaycee Karen Harper, who is with the Wake County Sheriff's Department. Their hard work - along with many other Jaycee volunteers, made the show such a success and added to the $100,000 + the Apex Jaycees have raised over the years for The Boys & Girls Home of North Carolina.     Click here for pictures of past carshows!
