Jaycees Hold Raffle for Duke Cancer
Center
Apex
(June27) – The Apex Jaycees recently held their annual Bob
Timberlake print raffle with all proceeds being given to The North
Carolina Jaycee Outpatient Facility at Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center
in Durham. This facility currently offers treatment for 80+ patients a
day. The Jaycees are raising money for funding of construction,
furniture, and personal items that make the visits, usually ranging from
3-8 hours, more comfortable for patients and their families.
Celebrating 30
Years of Baseball with The Apex Jaycees
Apex (4-15-2005) – With
almost 500 children playing in their baseball league this summer, The
Apex Jaycees are anticipating another exciting season for T-ball and
Machine Pitch players.The
young sluggers consist of boys and girls, ages 5-8, participating in an
instructional league. They don’t keep scores or stats, but they take
away with them important principles such as teamwork, respect,
cooperation and responsibility. They also take with them the
fundamentals of America’s pastime.
